I have 500 and 1000 watt speakers and only a 200 watt cd player. What kind of amp do i need?
the front are 500 watt 3 way speakers, and the rear are 1000 watt 6 way speakers. My cd player only has a 200 watt output, what kind of amp do I need?
those power ratings on the speakers are too high, if that is for door speakers then you got suckered… you will blow them if you give them 500 watts if it is subwoofers than the rating is more realistic.
Look for CONTINUOUS or RMS power, not peak
get an amp that makes anywhere from 50-100 watts RMS per channel
(your cd player only makes 50 PEAK per channel, 200 peak total)
