How much weight can a warehouse roof beam?
This weekend my wife and I bought a hammock chairs. Hang on a single mechanism J-Hook/spring and are designed for a single person. I hung on our porch. My question is, how much weight the roof beam should be able to maintain without collapsing roof my house or break the beam? The guy who sold them told us that 350 pounds. But do not know if he was talking about the road or the chair itself. For reference, the house is 30 years old. Thanks for your help!
This depends on the size of the beam, Go to the American wood products that will span calculator sections and acceptable load, if a beam is not capable of supporting or awaiting loading, it can skew your load points, and put one on a beam and the other end into another beam of 2×4 or 2×6 questionable that they have more Shoul no problem.
