94 Pontiac firebird engine replacement?
hey i was planning on getting a 94 Pontiac firebird trans am v8. it has ove 150k miles and probably due for a swap. what would be the best engine to replace with (lt1 ls1 lt4) and where could i get one thats cheapest? could i also install it myself?
An LS1 engine would be the best choice. It is the newest model and provides really good horsepower and torque. If you were going for something cheap to build up youself then try to find the engine in a junkyard. Also Jegs sells brand new engines but they will cost you alot more. If you know what your doing and got the right set of tools then you can replace the engine yourself.
