Is the external data bus simply like a one way road from RAM to the CPU?
Does the external data bus send data TO the CPU, but not receive any data through that bus?
That wouldnt be very useful now would it….
EDB’s such as Universal Serial Bus (USB) and IEEE 1394 have various techniques for moving data bi-directionally. I could explain the process, but it probably is easier for you to just read about it. A simple web search should give you an enormous amount of information on bus communications.
Also, something you might want to consider if you are interested in learning more, is to buy something like a Basic Stamp Development board. This will allow you to play with actual embedded hardware, and learn to trigger data feeds on actual clock signals. This is the easiest way to understand this…
