Can I install two subwoofers to my stereo amplifier wiring in parallel, and bridge the amp. How?
I have an amplifier of 300 Orion Xteme and two 10 "subs in a sealed box XTR. I want to know the best way to wire these submarines. I can answer specific quesions specification should necessary. The amplifiers have been built at a crossroads.
Please specify if your amplifier is a 2 channel or 4 channels, 2 ohm or 4 ohm stable amplifier type Bridgeable and if your subs are SVC (2 ohms or 4 ohms) or DVC (2 ohm or 4 ohm). To simplify, if your amp is a 2-channel amplifier 2 ohm stable bridgeable rate and assuming your subs are SVC (single voice coil) 4 ohms. It can be connected in parallel which would make their total impedance of 2 ohms and then connect in bridge mode. But if your amp is only 4 ohm stable amplifier, connect the sub to each channel separately. If your amp is 2 ohm stable amp and subs are 2 ohm SVC, contact Your alternates for each channel separately. If your amp is 4 ohm stable amp and subs are 2 ohms, connect the subs in series so that will make it a impedance 4 ohms, then connect the amplifier in bridge mode. Generally, the total impedance of the subwoofer should not be less than the impedance rating of the amplifier, either in the channel mode or bridge mode. Note inadequate impedance will result in close Downs of your amplifier or worse short-circuit power or audio components inside. Connection subscribers in bridge mode will increase the output power amplifier.
